Living Intentionally

Luke 9:23: And He said to them all, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” -King Jesus

Living a life of intention requires a daily decision to deny myself. I deny my will, desires, passions, and dreams and replace them with God’s will, desires, passions, and dreams. I go on mission, every day, wherever God plants me, and live a life with the intention to take on the burden of Jesus Christ when He walked this earth. I continually surrender to God for the glory of God. I fulfill God’s design for my life and live a life of intention by denying myself, picking up the life of Christ Jesus in me, and following Him, every day.

Living intentionally means I no longer live for “me.” I live for “Him.” My heart posture desires to be filled with all God wants for me and from me for the purpose of glorifying Him on this earth. I do whatever it takes to fulfill that. For me, this is a daily lifestyle that is continually pursuing my Lord and Savior. My allegiance is to Him alone, and I am an ambassador of His Kingdom here on this earth. I’m not only a benefactor. I take on the burden that Christ died for, as His disciple, and do as He did when He walked this earth. I go and make disciples.

Living intentionally means I have purpose, every day. This purpose is not only for my blood family, but my spiritual family as well. I live with the intention to see His freedom in all of those around me, because I know that I will never look into the eyes of anyone that God does not love or want.

A life directed with God’s intention is a choice for me. It’s a choice to surrender all to His obedience and to allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in me. When I make that choice, my heart becomes aligned with God. I see the life I was designed to live - my TRUE life.

David Platt once said in one of his sermons “When you love the glory of God MORE than you love your own life, that is true Christianity.”
