Harvest of Blessing

~By: Silvana Place~

“....But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Galatians‬ ‭6:8b-9‬ ‭NLT

A few months ago, my husband and son, who are blessed with green thumbs, planted a garden. Their season of planting is starting to show new growth. Soon we will harvest corn, pumpkin, kale, and other veggies. Our flowers are also blooming beautifully! Even ones we thought had withered away in the cold of winter are flourishing.

I love the spring season! It reminds me that growth happens in each season of life, even when we can’t see it. There is growth in the hard, cold seasons of heartache and trial, as well as in the joyous, warm seasons. If our trust is in Jesus during the hard seasons, our nourishment will come from Him. It all can be a preparation for what is to come in the new season that brings refreshing. If we allow it, it will cause us to flourish as we do what Christ has purposed us for.

“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.” 1 Peter‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭NLT

In the season where the enemy planned to destroy us, God will redeem and restore us. As we remain in Him, we are promised a harvest of the blessing of everlasting life. Our testimony will have an impact, and God will use it to bring Him glory and to reach the harvest field that is plentiful. For that there is great joy!

“Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work. You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest.” John‬ ‭4:34-35‬ ‭NLT‬‬
